Makeup Madness: Smokey Eye

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are ready for the upcoming week. I know I'm not. Weekend's just go by so fast! So I didn't get up to much, except catching up on sleep and catching up with my TV shows. I'm really sad that 90210 which is one of the shows I've been watching religiously since its first season, is now on its last. First Gossip Girl ended, now this. I need to find other shows to follow..any suggesions?

Anyways moving on!

My wonderful sister in law Tina was over today, and we decided to have some fun and play around with makeup. I wanted to do a glam going out look for her, by playing up her gorgeous eyes.

**Disclaimer: I am not a pro makeup artist, I just have an obsession with makeup!**

So to begin with, she had amazing flawless skin so it was a perfect canvas to work with. Here she is before we started, all prepped and ready to go:

And this was her after!

Isn't she stunning? The smokey eye look is so perfect for a night out, and the nude pink lips add the perfect contrast.

Here is a step by step of the products I used to achieve this look:

1) After using a suitable moisturizer, I used MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus foundation. This is a powder and a foundation in one, making it super versatile and allows for build-able coverage. It also creates a matte finish.

2) Under her eyes I used a tiny amount of Benefit Erase Paste to get rid of any dark circles.
3) To set the foundation, I used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder.
4) On her cheeks I used Benefit Coralista blush and finished with Guerlain Indian Bronze highlighter.

5) Moving on to the eyes, I used my trusted Urban Decay 'Smoked' palette to achieve the perfect smokey eye look. I love this palette because it allows you to do your own take on smokey eye with many different 'smokey' shades. In this case, I used 'Loaded' which is the smokey green shade in place of the usual black/grey. I blended loaded with the 'Freestyle' and 'Kinky' shades to achieve the different dimensions.
For the lower lash I first applied the urban decay perversion gel eyeliner and then smudged it with 'Freestyle' to achieve a smokey lower lash line.

I finished the look by applying Sephora eyeliner to the top lid and using Revlon Fabulash mascara on her lashes.
6) Lastly for her lips, I used a Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense lipstick in shade 31.

So that's pretty much it! What do you think of the look? Please leave a comment if you have any questions!
